SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for supplier quality strategy, special process governance, global supplier development programs, and risk management initiatives across multiple factories and regions. Recognized industry expert in multiple critical manufacturing technologies. Typically supports suppliers performing standard/complex manufacturing operations and several distinct special processes. Independently manages supplier quality activities for critical suppliers and complex special processes. Drives supplier development, qualification, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple factories. Responsible for monitoring supplier performance, supporting supplier audits, assisting with corrective actions, and ensuring supplier compliance to company purchasing and performance requirements. Supports oversight of multiple special processes with developed expertise in several primary processes, such as precision machining, anodize, precision cleaning, coating and plating, as well as distributors Supports multiple manufacturing sites in multiple geographic locations Establishes supplier quality strategy & defines supplier qualification requirements Benchmarks against industry best known methods Able to render decisions autonomously and provide direction to junior engineers Coordinates supplier issues across locations
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
BS in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline required; Graduate studies in these disciplines or in a Special Process area are preferred 7+ years' experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, with at least 7 years managing suppliers.
Working knowledge of:
ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
; CAPA systems and management; Inspection Control Plans; PFMEA and other risk assessment tools. GD&T (intermediate level) and print interpretation Experience performing and facilitating root cause analysis activities Expert level understanding of statistical analysis tools and principles (e.g. SPC, Cp/Cpk, Gage R&R, Pareto analysis, and basic hypothesis testing) Six Sigma Lean Sensei
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS
ASQ / ISO Quality Certifications are preferred:
CQE, CSQP, ISO
