Thursday:
7:00 AM to 5:30 PM Summary As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products and materials supplied to our company. This mid-level position involves conducting supplier audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with suppliers to resolve quality issues. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance programs aligned with industry standards such as
AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949
2016, and
ISO 9001.
Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations to verify compliance with quality management systems and regulatory standards including FDA regulations. Lead root cause analysis and defect resolution efforts by analyzing engineering data, statistical data (using tools like Minitab), and process performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Manage supplier non-conformance issues through effective corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA), ensuring timely resolution and continuous quality improvement. Collaborate with sourcing teams to qualify new suppliers and monitor existing supplier performance through key quality indicators. Utilize advanced quality engineering practices such as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process engineering techniques. Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality records, audit reports, inspection results, and compliance documentation in accordance with industry standards. Support manufacturing teams by providing engineering data analysis related to quality control, defect trends, and process capability studies to optimize production efficiency. Skills Extensive knowledge of industry standards including AS9100:2016, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, and ITAR regulations. Proven experience in vendor quality assurance within manufacturing or industrial environments with a focus on sourcing and supplier management. Strong analytical skills utilizing statistical tools such as Minitab for data analysis related to quality control and process improvements. Expertise in root cause analysis techniques for defect resolution and implementing effective corrective actions. Ability to manage multiple projects using project management principles while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting. Mechanical knowledge combined with process engineering experience to support assembly lines and manufacturing workflows effectively. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with suppliers, production teams, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders. Education & Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of product development, quality assurance, supplier quality engineering, supplier quality performance systems and engineering documentation. Proven experience in supplier quality engineering or a similar role.
Compensation Range:
$100,000 to $115,000 / year (position qualifies for Annual Bonus Plan). Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
