QUALITY ENGINEER

Mitsubishi Power Aero, Glastonbury In this position, the Quality Engineer (QE) will be responsible for providing quality engineering support for aero-derivative gas turbine programs. The selected QE will team with Engineering, Procurement, and other cross-functional groups to drive the business and its suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals. Job Requirements

  • Perform and approve first article inspections.
  • Execute supplier source inspections.
  • Complete Quality System audits and process compliance assessments.
  • Provide Quality technical support within the program value streams.
  • Lead the resolution of supplier and customer escapes.
  • Ensure implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of quality metrics including nonconforming material, supplier performance, and escapes.
  • Monitor supplier quality assurance for suppliers and engine models.
  • Review/modify quality requirements for supplier purchase orders as required.
  • Manage assigned supplier nonconformances and deviations. Special Skills
  • Highly adaptable, effective team player with the ability to develop and sustain change activities
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills and proven accomplishments
  • Engineering drawing interpretation; GD&T with the ability to interpret CMM data outputs
  • Hard gaging experience, including calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to engage, interact with, and hold suppliers accountable
  • Experience using root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS 365 suite At this time, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
