Entry-Level Production Engineer We make ridiculously good display products and other home products right here in Idaho. Behind every great product are thoughtful designs, good processes, and people who care about getting the details right. We're looking for an Entry-Level Production Engineer who enjoys figuring out how things work—and how to make them work better. You'll use SolidWorks, solve problems alongside our production team, and help turn good ideas into practical improvements on the shop floor. If you're a recent engineering graduate or have 1-3 years of relevant experience, this could be a good place to put your skills to work. In this role, you'll be: Designing for production. Create and update SolidWorks models, drawings, and fixtures that help our team manufacture products accurately and efficiently. Solving real shop problems. Work with production managers and engineers to troubleshoot issues, improve designs, and make products easier to manufacture. Owning welding jigs from start to finish. Design, build, weld, test, and maintain jigs, then train the team to use them. Make sure they're safe, accurate, and easy to work with. Supporting the production floor. Help the team put designs into practice and resolve issues that affect fit, function, and quality. Making processes better. Look for bottlenecks, unnecessary steps, and opportunities to improve workflow and repeatability. Helping customer service with technical questions. Provide clear, accurate answers about our products. Keeping the details organized. Maintain CAD files, drawings, and process documents so the team can find and use the right information. Available for a full-time, 40-hour workweek: Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.-3 p.m., and Friday, 6 a.m.-noon. What you'll need: A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. SolidWorks proficiency, including creating and modifying models and detailed drawings. A foundational understanding of statics, free-body diagrams, strength of materials, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, ERP systems, and FIFO. An understanding of manufacturing equipment capabilities, including CNC lasers, press brakes, and welders. As a person, you should: Have a slightly unreasonable attention to detail. Enjoy practical problem-solving and following an idea through to a working solution. Be comfortable spending time on the shop floor, working alongside and learning from the people making our products. Communicate clearly, listen well, and contribute to the team's success. Stay organized and take responsibility for your work. Take direction well, welcome feedback, and stay open to other ideas. Care about safety, craftsmanship, and making the next person's job easier.
Bonus points if you:
Have a Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) certification. Bring hands-on welding, fabrication, or jig-building experience. Have worked in a manufacturing environment. Why Shelfology? You'll get hands-on experience with real products, real equipment, and real manufacturing challenges. You'll work alongside experienced teammates, build your engineering skills, and see your work make a difference in what we produce every day. There's more, but we can fill you in on the nerdy details in person. Check out what we make at shelfology.com .
