INTRODUCTION TO AM GENERAL AM

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support to Quality Department during new model changes and future product development and engineering changes Works cross-functionally with all departments, Suppliers, and organization locations as assigned to ensure supplier parts conform to specifications supporting the production environment Lead and support problem investigation of suspect non-conforming parts to verify compliance to the released design When non-conformances are found, SQE's are to address the issue in a timely manner supporting the production process while driving irreversible corrective action back to the supplier process Manage non-conforming material containment at AMG and with the supplier to prevent usage in AMG's production process Work with the supplier and AMG's production team to identify and manage all known and suspect non-conforming material including sorting, rework, quarantine, and final disposition Process non-conforming material for final disposition utilizing AMG's defined processes Track Supplier performance metrics and trends to assist in supply base improvement SQE's are expected to promote and maintain a safe and respectful work environment, and to adhere to all work policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related technical experience in the Automotive, Defense or Manufacturing industry 5+ years experience in Automotive, Defense or manufacturing related field Working knowledge of AIAG quality core tools Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) Working knowledge of dimensional GD&T and check fixtures Familiarity with ISO 9001 and
IATF 16949
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications Strong communication skills Proficiency in problem solving and problem solving methodologies
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Sight:
must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Hearing:
must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Location:
This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises
Teamwork:
This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace
Listening Skills:
This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competently Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line
Concentration:
This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important
