Job Description
Position Summary KZ Recreational Vehicles, located in Shipshewana, Indiana, has been producing quality RVs since 1972 and is known for our family-like atmosphere, continued growth, and commitment to excellence. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plant Engineer to join our team. This position serves as the engineering link between customer needs, product design, and manufacturing operations. The Plant Engineer plays a key role in product development, product improvement, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, working collaboratively with production teams, and developing practical solutions that improve both product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software Support manufacturing operations by providing engineering assistance and resolving production-related issues Evaluate product designs for functionality, manufacturability, quality, and cost-effectiveness Research, develop, and implement product and process improvements Collaborate with production, purchasing, sales, customer service, and leadership teams on engineering projects Investigate and troubleshoot product or process concerns and develop effective solutions Participate in testing, validation, and implementation of new products and design changes Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction Assist with project planning, product launches, and engineering change management Qualifications & Requirements Proficiency with CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or Solid Edge Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement Degree, technical certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience Preferred Attributes Previous experience in the RV, automotive, manufacturing, or related industry Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments Schedule Monday-Friday Full-time, salaried exempt position Compensation Starting salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
