Job Description
Company Overview KZ Recreational Vehicles, located in Shipshewana, Indiana, has been producing quality RVs since 1972 and is known for our family-like atmosphere, continued growth, and commitment to excellence. We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded Crate Builder to join our team. This role is responsible for building quality shipping crates and packaging materials used to protect parts and products during transportation. The ideal candidate has experience using hand tools and power tools, can accurately read work orders and measurements, and takes pride in producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Build wooden crates, pallets, and custom packaging according to work orders and specifications Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately using a tape measure and various saws Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic (air) tools Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and shipping requirements Inspect completed crates to ensure quality and structural integrity Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with material handling, loading, and other warehouse-related duties as needed Qualifications & Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis Experience using hand tools, power tools, air tools, and saws Strong ability to accurately read and use a tape measure Ability to read and follow work orders and written instructions Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team Safety-minded approach to all job duties Preferred Attributes Previous experience in crate building, manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse environments Knowledge of shipping and packaging best practices
