Position Summary We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Senior Industrial Engineer to drive both operational process improvement and system optimization within automated distribution and fulfillment operations. This role combines traditional Industrial Engineering responsibilities including process design, capacity planning, labor optimization, and continuous improvement with deep expertise in warehouse systems, automation technologies, and cross-functional product development. Job Responsibilities Analyze warehouse processes, labor utilization, equipment performance, material flow, and operational metrics to identify and implement improvement opportunities. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects from concept through implementation, delivering measurable gains in productivity, quality, service levels, and cost efficiency. Evaluate and optimize automated systems, WMS/WCS integrations, sorting systems, order completion logic, batch processing workflows, and material handling operations. Conduct time studies, process mapping, workflow analysis, root cause investigations, and system performance assessments. Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, WMS, Automation, and external vendors to resolve operational and system-related issues. Support full project lifecycle activities, including business requirements definition, solution design, testing, implementation, launch, and post-launch stabilization. Identify and resolve system reliability issues, including process logic gaps, integration failures, message sequencing issues, retry mechanism defects, and performance bottlenecks. Create and maintain SOPs, process documentation, dashboards, facility layouts, and performance reporting tools. Present findings, recommendations, project updates, and business cases to leadership and key stakeholders. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Operations Engineering experience within distribution, fulfillment, warehouse, or automated logistics environments. Experience supporting high-volume automated operations with exposure to WMS, WCS, automation systems, sortation technologies, and material handling equipment. Experience with process mapping, time studies, capacity planning, simulation modeling, and root cause analysis. Working knowledge of system integrations, automation workflows, API-based processes, and operational system troubleshooting. Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar). AutoCAD experience for facility layout design and space utilization planning preferred.
