The individual serves as the propulsion representative inside the plant. 2. Strong Technical Understanding is More Important Than Deep Subject Matter Expertise The hiring manager is looking for someone who understands: How propulsion systems function Engine, transmission, and driveline interactions High-level software/calibration concepts The candidate does not need to be the organization's top technical expert but must be capable of understanding issues and coordinating solutions. 3. The Role Serves as the Bridge Between Plant Operations and Engineering Success depends on: Connecting the right resources to the right problems Coordinating issue resolution efforts Working across engineering, quality, launch, and manufacturing teams Facilitating solutions rather than being the sole technical expert 5. Relationship Building is Critical This person will be the team's: Eyes and ears in the plant Daily propulsion representative Trusted partner to plant quality, launch, and operations teams Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. 6. Flexible around the 8+ Years of experience Requirement. Salary/rate is paid according to experience, skill, education (BS Degree in Engineering required) and level of plant integration and propulsion system knowledge Although 8+ years of propulsion experience is preferred, candidates with fewer years of experience may still be considered if they possess relevant technical expertise, strong transferable skills, or experience in preferred qualification areas. 7. Specific Knowledge Can Be Taught Candidates are not expected to know all internal systems or processes on day one. Training and support will be provided for: Internal production systems Change management processes Plant procedures and workflows Key contacts and escalation paths 8. Intrinsic Motivation is a Major Success Factor One of the strongest themes discussed was the importance of: Self-motivation Ownership mentality Initiative Accountability Desire to drive results The hiring manager views these traits as equally important as technical qualifications. 9. Mechanical and Software Backgrounds Are Both Valuable The ideal candidate may come from: Powertrain engineering Mechanical engineering Manufacturing engineering Software integration Calibration or controls engineering A blend of mechanical and software knowledge is highly desirable, but strength in one area with willingness to learn the other is acceptable. 10. Strong Support Structure is Available The selected individual will not be operating independently.

They will receive:

Dedicated support from corporate propulsion/program management teams Mentorship during onboarding Access to technical experts for escalated issues Ongoing guidance as they build plant knowledge and relationships 11. Long-Term Opportunity with Potential for Conversion The manager's expectation is that this will be a long-term engagement with the possibility of conversion based on performance and business needs. 12. High-Visibility Role Supporting a Critical Program This role supports one of clients most important vehicle programs and offers exposure to: New propulsion technology launches Large-scale manufacturing operations Cross-functional leadership teams High-profile initiatives with organizational visibility Ideal Candidate Summary The strongest candidates will bring: Powertrain/propulsion knowledge Manufacturing or plant experience Software and calibration awareness Technical problem-solving skills Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Strong ownership and self-motivation Ability to coordinate and drive issue resolution across multiple teams This is less of a traditional project management role and more of a hands-on technical integration and launch leadership position focused on ensuring successful propulsion system implementation at the plant level.
