We are seeking a Process Engineer - Ergonomist to support a major automotive manufacturing facility in Wayne, MI. This temporary role focuses on improving workstation design, reducing ergonomic risks, and enhancing employee safety, productivity, and overall operational performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct ergonomic assessments of production workstations and manufacturing processes.
Identify injury risk factors and recommend workplace improvements.
Analyze safety, medical, and operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Partner with production, engineering, safety, medical, labor, and plant leadership teams.
Support new product launches, process changes, and workstation redesign projects.
Ensure compliance with established ergonomic standards and best practices.
Deliver training and guidance to employees and leadership on ergonomics and injury prevention.
Utilize data analysis and 3D modeling tools to evaluate and improve workplace design.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Ergonomics, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, Kinesiology, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in ergonomics, manufacturing, industrial engineering, safety, or a related technical environment.
Experience performing ergonomic evaluations and implementing process improvements.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
Experience with 3D modeling required.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a related field.
Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) credential.
Automotive manufacturing or launch experience.
Familiarity with ergonomic simulation software.
