Up to 30%, mostly domestic U.S. travel We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Anoka, MN. This role is with a global manufacturing company that designs and produces electrical connection, protection, thermal management, enclosure, and fastening solutions used across industrial and commercial applications. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on Supplier Quality professional with experience in automotive, HVAC, electrical equipment, enclosures, industrial manufacturing, or related metal-based manufacturing environments .

The hiring manager is especially interested in candidates with experience involving: Welding processes Steel or stainless steel components Steel/stainless tubing Fabricated metal parts Metalwork or related supplier manufacturing processes Candidates who are solely from a medical device background will not be the right fit for this role.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary quality liaison between suppliers, customers, and internal teams Lead supplier quality issue resolution, including RCCA, 8D, corrective actions, and containment Evaluate supplier corrective action effectiveness and supplier risk Partner with Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to reduce production and supplier quality risk Manage day-to-day supplier performance and supplier engagement Support supplier PPAPs, supplier audits, site visits, and continuous improvement initiatives Review and support Control Plans, FMEAs, process capability, and supplier quality documentation Establish supplier communication cadence and performance expectations Drive zero-defect culture and supplier performance improvement Lead and participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement events Travel to supplier sites as needed, up to approximately 30%
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing/Automation, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or related field preferred 3+ years of Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Quality, or related quality experience Experience with automotive, HVAC, electrical equipment, enclosures, or industrial manufacturing suppliers Experience with welding, tubing, steel/stainless steel, fabricated metals, or related metalwork Strong root cause and corrective action experience, including RCCA, 8D, SCARs, and 5 Why Experience with Control Plans, FMEA/PFMEA, process capability, APQP, and PPAP Familiarity with
ISO 9001
2015; internal auditor training is a plus Lean, Six Sigma, CQE, CMQ, or CQA certification is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with suppliers and internal teams Ability to coach, mentor, and train Quality Technicians or supplier quality personnel

Compensation:
This is a direct hire position offering a salary range of $76,000 - $125,000 per year , depending on experience.
