Comprehensive Benefits Package Position Overview A growing industrial manufacturer in the Hendersonville, NC area is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier quality, incoming components, and continuous improvement initiatives. This facility manufactures highly engineered equipment used in power generation and other mission-critical applications . The Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to ensure purchased components and materials consistently meet technical and quality requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer coming from automotive, heavy industrial, power generation, aerospace, machinery, or another highly engineered manufacturing environment . Key Responsibilities Own supplier quality activities for assigned components, materials, and suppliers. Evaluate supplier capabilities and ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements. Lead supplier corrective actions related to quality defects, nonconforming material, and recurring issues. Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies. Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and ongoing supplier performance reviews. Work directly with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, manufacturing processes, and overall performance. Review and approve supplier quality documentation and qualification packages. Support new supplier qualification and new product/component introduction. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations to resolve supplier-related issues. Track supplier quality metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Support containment activities when supplier quality issues impact production. Help establish and improve supplier quality standards, processes, and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred. 3+ years of Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related manufacturing experience. Experience within automotive, heavy industrial, power generation, aerospace, industrial equipment, or similar manufacturing environments strongly preferred. Experience with supplier development, supplier audits, corrective actions, and root cause analysis. Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, PPAP, and CAPA is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work directly with suppliers and confidently drive corrective action and continuous improvement.
