Comprehensive Benefits Package Position Overview A growing industrial manufacturer in the Hendersonville, NC area is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support quality initiatives within a highly engineered manufacturing environment. This facility manufactures complex equipment used in power generation and other mission-critical applications . This engineer will spend significant time partnering with production, engineering, and operations to troubleshoot quality issues, improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and ensure products consistently meet customer and engineering requirements. The ideal candidate will bring experience from automotive, heavy industrial, power generation, aerospace, machinery, or another complex manufacturing environment . Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on Quality Engineering support to manufacturing operations. Investigate production quality issues, defects, and nonconforming material. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Design Engineering, and other teams to improve product and process quality. Develop and maintain quality documentation, inspection requirements, control plans, and procedures. Analyze quality data and manufacturing trends to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities. Support process validation and new product introduction activities. Drive reduction of scrap, rework, defects, and customer quality issues. Participate in FMEA activities and manufacturing process reviews. Develop solutions to improve process capability and product consistency. Support internal and external quality audits as needed. Provide technical guidance to production personnel regarding quality standards and requirements. Champion continuous improvement and structured problem-solving throughout the manufacturing operation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred. 3+ years of Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar manufacturing experience. Experience within automotive, heavy industrial, power generation, aerospace, industrial equipment, or similar manufacturing environments strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. Familiarity with 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, CAPA, and other quality tools . Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Experience working directly with manufacturing teams in a plant-floor environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and drive quality improvements from identification through implementation.
