Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Lean Manager to lead continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall process performance through the application of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial engineering, manufacturing processes, and team leadership, with a passion for fostering a culture of operational excellence. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate Lean manufacturing projects to streamline production processes, improve cycle times, and eliminate waste across multiple departments. Conduct root cause analysis to identify inefficiencies and develop effective solutions that enhance process reliability and quality. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement process improvements and automation initiatives. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics to design layouts, tooling, and equipment modifications supporting Lean initiatives. Manage project scheduling to ensure timely execution of improvement projects while maintaining safety standards and compliance. Apply advanced manufacturing engineering data analysis techniques to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement efforts. Lead training sessions on Lean management, Six Sigma tools, industrial automation, CNC operations, and other technical skills for team members. Oversee the implementation of industrial equipment upgrades including vision inspection systems, CNC machinery. Develop and maintain documentation for process flows, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and troubleshooting procedures. Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging team members to identify opportunities for process enhancement on the assembly line or within tooling operations. Skills Strong expertise in Lean manufacturing principles combined with Six Sigma certification or experience in process improvement methodologies. Proficiency in project management tools including project scheduling software to coordinate multiple initiatives efficiently. Deep understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts such as plastics injection molding, welding techniques, industrial automation, CNC machining, and robotics programming. Skilled in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo for designing schematics and layouts supporting process improvements. Experience with industrial equipment such as vision inspection systems, CNC machines, robotic arms, tooling fixtures, and industrial automation systems. Ability to perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving techniques; familiar with GD&T standards for precision engineering. Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams within a factory or manufacturing facility environment; capable of guiding teams through change management processes. Knowledge of manufacturing data analysis tools to evaluate engineering data for quality improvement programs in manufacturing settings. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly lines, tooling design, mechanical troubleshooting, and industrial equipment maintenance. Familiarity with practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with hands-on experience in factory environments is highly desirable.
