Job Description
Job Description Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices. As part of Safran's global Aerosafety Division, you'll contribute to technologies that help protect millions of passengers and crew members every year. You will also enjoy the collaborative culture and agility of a human-scale site backed by the strength and opportunities of a global aerospace leader. This potion will be responsible for the Leadership of Vertical Integration and the introduction of New Automation initiatives within the group.
Main Objectives:
- Project Engineering support for New International Programs where Product Development or New Process Introduction is required.
- Creation and maintenance of industrialization Schedules to meet Safran "One Develop" process, Customer rate readiness, and Safety requirements
- Lead FMEA process sustaining and improvement efforts, and facilitation of FMEA workshops to ensure adherence to Safran and internal FMEA policies
- Communication with Design Engineering, Program Managers, and Production departments in various facilities to ensure manufacturability and standardization throughout development
- Ensure Design for Manufacture methodologies are adequately applied to our new programs before release to production.
- Assist with department Manufacturing Capacity Review policy compliance
- Assist with Tooling, and process design when necessary for standards and quality improvements.
Activities:
- Problem Solving and Process design through common methods, such as tooling, instructions and equipment.
- Bill of Material and labor performance monitoring to ensure cost to estimate for New Programs
- Leadership of support engineers and technicians when needed.
- Perform Process Capabilities studies and preparation for Production Readiness Reviews
- Response to customer audits and Requests for Information
- Ensure evidence of APQP and PPAP deliverables are collected and maintained
- Process design through common methods, such as tooling, instructions and equipment.
- Prototype and test procedure design for new manufacturing processes and improvements.
- Support for introduction of new production lines
- Support for resolution of safety and Customer claims issues for new programs
- Creation and maintenance of work instructions when needed
- Presentation at Program Reviews and equipment Capacity Analysis
- PFMEA creation and update support
- Tooling and process equipment design support and review for New Programs
- Ensure corporate policy and procedure requirements compliance when implementing major Industrial Improvements or changes.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required;
- Other duties may be assigned.

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of engineering or a similar role, with a strong focus on project management and cross-functional leadership activities.
