Vice President of Packaging/Packaging Manager Packaging engineer position Purpose and Objectives Support day to day packaging operations resolving package performance issues, such as component compatibility with automation, non-conforming components, systemic causes of downtime related to components. Lead efforts to improve efficiency, quality and safety. Essential Job Functions Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems Manage the component non-conformance tracker, assess and rate vendors, work with Procurement to drive improvement/select best vendors. Evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews. Work with Package Development team to assess functional compatibility of new components with packaging line automation, in terms of size, shape, design and finish Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage. Work with Package Development team to organize line trials for customers and vendors for new product validation. Lead initiatives to improve efficiency on packaging lines, with regards to cleaning, changeover and run rates Team member deciding on new equipment to improve quality and efficiency Lead/participate in non-conformance investigations and CAPA Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast environment Must be able to follow all GMPs and relevant SOPs. SAP or other ERP system knowledge preferred. Physical Demands/Requirements Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Interact with suppliers, management, operations, PDD, and sourcing Travel Details None expected Working Conditions Decision making environment, strong interaction with operations and sales, as well as other supporting groups. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or packaging engineering.
