Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to support a medical device manufacturing operation. In this role, you will ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services by qualifying suppliers to company standards, monitoring components from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle, and resolving supplier-related issues as they arise. You will evaluate supplier internal functions to assess overall performance, provide technical guidance and quality compliance throughout the product lifecycle with a focus on supplier changes, and partner with R&D, sourcing, engineering, operations, and quality teams to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to work with a well-established manufacturer producing life-changing medical technology. Responsibilities Qualify suppliers according to company standards and administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness Monitor parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle, communicating and resolving supplier-related problems as they occur Evaluate suppliers' internal functions to assess overall performance and provide feedback on their operations Provide technical guidance and quality compliance throughout the product lifecycle, with focus on supplier changes Ensure purchased products and components are manufactured and qualified in accordance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver the product acceptance sampling strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and control plans for new products Define receiving inspection requirements and associated test method validation for internal test methods Implement strategies for driving product quality and continuous improvement across the supply base Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering Background in supplier development and supplier management Experience with Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Experience with supplier change orders Experience developing a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection Medical device or automotive manufacturing experience Knowledge of
ISO 13485
requirements andFDA QMSR
