Our products are designed and built locally by a skilled union workforce. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team and serve as an important link between engineering and manufacturing. The Opportunity This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, solving problems and figuring out how to make things work better. The Engineering Technician works closely with our engineering, production, maintenance and production control teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, support CNC operations, improve processes and remove roadblocks that affect production. The ideal candidate has CNC programming experience combined with CAD skills , mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively with both engineers and manufacturing employees. What You'll Do Support CNC machining and laser operations by developing and modifying programs for new and existing jobs. Create and update CNC programs based on established SolidWorks drawings and engineering specifications . Support CNC machinists and production employees with programming, troubleshooting and technical issues. Work closely with Production Control to coordinate CNC job requirements and communicate potential scheduling issues. Troubleshoot CNC machine and production problems and work with vendors or service providers when technical support or repairs are required. Communicate machine downtime and production issues to plant management and help develop practical workarounds to keep production moving. Work closely with engineers, production managers and manufacturing employees to improve products, processes and manufacturing procedures. Create, update and maintain quality inspection sheets and ensure changes to product designs or measurements are accurately reflected. Create and update work instructions and other manufacturing documentation. Assist the engineering team with product design, process improvements, tooling and other engineering projects. Help identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and productivity. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively throughout the organization. What We're Looking For Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, CNC Technology or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered. Experience programming CNC machines; experience with CNC laser equipment is a plus . Experience developing or modifying mill and lathe programs . Experience using SolidWorks . Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage work according to production schedules. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, production employees, supervisors and management. Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software used in a manufacturing environment.
