Social and networking opportunities Weekly tech talks Community involvement Key Responsibilities Engage with manufacturing or innovation teams to understand workflow, problems to solve, current state, and feasibility of proposed solutions Apply industrial engineering analysis to deliver results including observing and understanding production workflow (process flows, spaghetti maps and data collection), capacity analysis, material utilization, space utilization, Lean manufacturing, and DMAIC methodology Complete observations and data analysis, write summaries and conclusions and make recommendations based upon the outcome of the observations and analysis Present the results to the engineering and manufacturing teams Use engineer principles and data to solve problems, including production issues Ensure standard methodologies are communicated, evaluated, and implemented Develop and execute project plans; including requirements, deliverables, resources, timing and risks Identify areas of potential productivity improvement; generate ideas and recommend systems, programs and projects Communicate ideas and project status clearly and professionally through graphic and written media, and oral presentations. Provide necessary documentation of activities, results, assignments. Responsible for the accuracy of work performed; take a can-do approach to ensure quality of work Experiences/Education- Required Candidate is enrolled in an Industrial Engineering degree program Interest in applying industrial engineering skills, including some of the following: capacity analysis, cost modeling, facility layout development, logistics, process simulation model development, implementation and analysis Interest in applying Lean manufacturing concepts and principles, including some of the following: cycle time reduction, manufacturing / business processes, Value Stream Mapping, line balance/staffing, work cell design, quick change over Desired Skills Conviction and real passion for the discipline Experience in Lean transformation of a business and / or manufacturing processes Self-motivated, independent, flexible, quick learner Strong data analysis and statistical skills Thoroughly carry assignments to completion Sound decision-making and prioritization skills Soft Skills Are you willing to take initiative and get results?
