Summary:
The Smart Factory Engineer supports the manufacturing floor by leveraging insights gained from analyzing large data sets in order to improve current manufacturing processes. They are responsible for integrating new technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT) into factory floor processes. This role involves reviewing engineering specifications, drawings, and manuals of new designs to build a state-of-the-art smart factory. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with various teams and vendors in order to manage and ensure project completion.
Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize, propose, gain approval for, and track progress of various projects, ensuring timely and successful completion
  • Improve efficiency and process capability of automated manufacturing systems, especially by using information gained from traceability, fault detection analysis, and quality classification systems
  • Work with other engineers and other teams to test and validate the installation and performance of the new technology
  • Apply engineering principals to the review of specifications, detailed drawings, and technical manuals of new designs
  • Interact with vendors and other teams to follow up the timeline of the projects
  • Perform risk and safety analysis of manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure compliance with and work towards continued improvement of health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3

  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent related experience
  • 0 to 3+ years of experience in manufacturing related job or equivalent relevant experience
Skills:
  • Battery production-related knowledge preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • CAD Software (AutoCad, Solidworks, Catia, etc.) experience is a plus
  • Experience with R, SQL or Python a plus, but not required
  • Positive attitude, open minded, and team player
  • Strong self-motivation and desire to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and solve complex problems
  • Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to manage projects and schedules
  • Korean language proficiency a plus
