Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. We are seeking a motivated Chemical Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, offering opportunities to work alongside industry professionals while contributing to projects that support operational excellence, process improvement, safety, and sustainability initiatives. What You'll Be Doing Support process improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. Analyze production data and prepare reports to identify trends and opportunities for optimization. Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing processes and equipment performance issues. Participate in safety, environmental, and quality improvement initiatives across the operation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement practical engineering solutions. What Are We Looking For Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and apply engineering principles in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting. Demonstrated initiative, organization, and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities. Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and learning in a fast-paced industrial environment. Work Environment Work is performed in a combination of office, laboratory, and industrial plant settings. Regular interaction with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering personnel. Exposure to manufacturing equipment, varying temperatures, dust, noise, and other industrial conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required when working in operational areas.
