$74,597.76 - $84,934.94 Position Summary Your Employment Services is recruiting a Quality Engineer to support the quality performance of a manufacturing operation in York, Pennsylvania. The Quality Engineer will help ensure that products, materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes meet established quality standards. This position will identify quality concerns, develop and coordinate corrective measures, implement quality-control systems, and support continuous-improvement efforts involving both suppliers and internal operations. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working directly with suppliers, Purchasing, production personnel, and other internal teams. This is an individual-contributor position with no direct reports. Key Responsibilities Audit key and underperforming suppliers and manage related continuous-improvement projects. Conduct focused receiving audits for suppliers experiencing recurring or significant quality concerns. Develop and maintain incoming-inspection control plans. Conduct periodic manufacturing-line and shipping audits. Evaluate materials and manufacturing processes to determine whether they meet drawings, specifications, and established quality requirements. Review supplier quality and environmental evaluations in coordination with the Purchasing team. Initiate, maintain, follow up on, and manage records associated with supplier-quality processes. Participate with Purchasing in the evaluation and selection of suppliers. Manage supplier-related nonconformance reports, quarantined materials, and follow-up activities. Work directly with suppliers to ensure nonconformances are properly investigated, corrective actions are implemented, and issues are brought to an appropriate and timely closure. Maintain the quarantine area and coordinate the timely return or disposition of nonconforming materials. Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives involving suppliers and internal operations. Identify opportunities to strengthen quality-control systems, inspection methods, supplier performance, and internal processes. Communicate quality concerns, findings, corrective actions, and follow-up requirements clearly to suppliers and internal stakeholders. Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation and records. Perform other quality-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in technology or a related discipline, or completion of a recognized quality certificate program. At least three years of relevant quality experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Experience evaluating or inspecting materials and manufacturing processes. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical ability. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience working with an ERP system. Familiarity with measuring and inspection equipment used in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work effectively in both office and production-floor settings. Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and commitment to continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications Experience in supplier quality, supplier auditing, or supplier development. Experience managing nonconforming materials, supplier quarantine, NCRs, and corrective-action follow-up. Experience developing incoming-inspection plans or conducting receiving inspections. Experience conducting manufacturing-line or final shipping audits. Experience partnering with Purchasing on supplier evaluations and supplier-selection activities. Lean or Six Sigma experience. Certified Engineering Technologist designation or another recognized quality-related certification. Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, machinery, power supplies, power tools, and related inspection methods. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Work is performed in both an office environment and on a manufacturing floor. The position requires regular interaction with suppliers, Purchasing, production employees, and other internal teams. Must be able to safely lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to follow all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and organizational requirements. What Success Looks Like A successful Quality Engineer will improve supplier and incoming-material quality, ensure nonconforming materials are controlled and resolved promptly, strengthen inspection processes, and work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams to prevent recurring quality issues.
