Job Title:
Quality Sourcing Manager Job Description The Quality Sourcing Manager leads critical supply chain and procurement initiatives that directly support key business objectives and performance metrics. This role develops and executes sourcing strategies, drives supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery, and owns end-to-end inventory location strategy and capital planning for production tooling. The position ensures that inventory and tooling investments align with business demand, are delivered on schedule, and remain within approved cost commitments, while building strong supplier partnerships in an electronics and electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies that support enterprise growth and margin goals. Lead supplier negotiations and manage contracts, supply relationships, and stocking agreements for raw materials and finished products. Drive supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business expectations. Own Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance for all categories, including setting targets, tracking actuals and forecasts, investigating and resolving variances, and leading corrective actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Lead and coach Buyers and actively participate in cross-functional and tactical support teams to achieve sourcing and quality objectives. Own capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning and budget management for tooling investments across the supply base. Build and maintain detailed project timelines for tooling programs, tracking milestones from purchase order placement through qualification and production readiness. Assume complete ownership of supplier performance, including supplier quality and cost of quality (COQ/CONC) metrics. Lead end-to-end sourcing operations for direct categories, evaluating low-cost country versus domestic sourcing strategies and identifying new opportunities. Ensure thorough understanding and application of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, translating supply forecasts into clear commitments, expectations, and specifications for suppliers. Maintain deep knowledge of market dynamics and commodity outlook, using data and business intelligence to identify, anticipate, and act on market trends. Manage supplier relationships and develop strategic partnerships that support long-term business objectives. Present key performance indicator (KPI) results and forecasts regularly to business leadership, providing insights and recommendations. Prepare and implement appropriate risk management strategies for supply contracts and agreements, including decisions around sole, single, and multi-source approaches. Oversee supplier quality activities such as first article inspection (FAI), audits, and corrective action plans, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by driving root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and risk mitigation across the supply base. Collaborate with quality, engineering, planning, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of sourcing decisions with product and process requirements. Essential Skills 6+ years of experience as a Quality Sourcing Manager. 3+ years of experience leading Supplier Quality Engineers, Planners, Buyers, and Sourcing Specialists. Strong experience in quality engineering and quality assurance within manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience with supplier quality activities, including first article inspection (FAI), audits, and corrective action plans. Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) methodologies. Experience in quality control and implementation of quality management systems. Working knowledge ofISO 9001
standards and their application in a manufacturing context. Proficiency with Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking of key performance indicators. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems to manage supply, inventory, and procurement activities. Demonstrated skill in supplier negotiations and contract management. Experience in electronics and electro-mechanical manufacturing industries. Familiarity with audit processes and inspection practices. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Experience in risk management and continuous improvement within supply chain and quality functions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
