Description Our client in the data center cooling industry is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their team near Mesquite, TX to support PLC/HMI programming, testing, and troubleshooting for liquid cooling equipment. In this role, you will work with established control logic, assist with software updates, and support equipment testing and commissioning. You'll collaborate closely with a senior controls engineer and cross functional teams to ensure reliable operation of pumps, valves, sensors, and instrumentation within engineered to order systems. This role is ideal for a mid level engineer who enjoys hands on work, PLC/HMI programming, and exposure to industrial controls and fluid handling systems. This is an opportunity to help shape products supporting AI and high-density computing while working with a collaborative, hands-on engineering team. Controls Engineer (3+ yrs PLC/HMI programming, industrial equipment exp. req.) Responsibilities Modify and troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs for liquid cooling equipment Implement updates to ladder logic or CODESYS under guidance from senior engineering staff Assist with software changes for new product features and equipment improvements Support functional testing, I/O verification, and equipment checkout Review and interpret electrical schematics and panel layouts Work with VFDs, pumps, valves, and process instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature) Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues Support factory acceptance testing and occasional remote or on-site commissioning Maintain documentation, redlines, and software revision notes Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols Controls Engineer (3+ yrs PLC/HMI programming, industrial equipment exp. req.)
