Southfield MI (must be within 1 hr commute)
Travel:
Up to 25% Pay range: $102K-$146K annually IAOB Position Summary The Red Supplier Manager plays a critical role in supporting OEM Red Supplier reduction initiatives, and customer complaint oversight. This role works closely with OEMs, Certification Bodies (CBs), Oversight Offices (OOs), and internal IAOB teams to improve supplier quality performance, support Red Supplier reduction objectives, and strengthen customer confidence in the
IATF 16949
scheme. The Red Supplier Manager position will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in IATF 16949 and serve as a knowledgeable subject matter expert for Red Supplier reduction. Supervises the Complaint Management System (CMS) Analyst. Key Responsibilities Supplier Quality & OEM Support Support the OEM Red Supplier Reduction process, including active participation in all OEM and Certification Body meetings. Collaborate with Oversight Offices and other stakeholders to follow up on OEM Red Supplier issues across regions. Observe and support Red Supplier Coaching Workshops to gain deeper understanding of supplier recovery processes. Customer Complaints & KPIs Meet the KPIs for Red Supplier Reduction. Support the complaint management process (CMS) for all customers, including tracking, analysis, and follow‑up with other Oversight Offices. Support oversight of Certification Body related KPIs, particularly as they relate to supplier performance and Tier N impact. Coordinate with other IATF Oversight Offices as complaint-handling activities expand. Standards, References, and Tools Support the maintenance and updating of OEM Customer-Specific Requirements (CSRs) and Quick Reference Guides.
Utilize and maintain proficiency in:
IATF KPI
Hub IAOB Hub IATF Database (IATF DB) Training and Development Expectations (Dependent on previous experience) The Red Supplier Manager is expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following:
IATF 16949
knowledge, Rules 6th edition
Observation of:
Red Supplier Coaching Workshops Red Supplier Witness Audits Proficiency in: QMS corrective action management Problem resolution methodologies (root cause analysis, containment, systemic correction) Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). Strong understanding of quality management systems and supply chain quality concepts. 10+ years prior experience in managing automotive suppliers. Ability to professionally manage conflict resolution. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Very organized with high attention to detail. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and support fact‑based decision making. Willingness to travel as required to support OEMs, CBs, and Oversight activities. Preferred Experience Prior experience as an OEM Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) or Quality Manager. Tier N experience in one or more of the following roles: Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Quality Manager Quality Auditor Familiarity with automotive OEM requirements and
