Job Description

Job Summary The Industrial Engineer supports plant performance by analyzing manufacturing processes and implementing practical improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this role applies LEAN methods to reduce waste and improve flow. The engineer collaborates with production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams and spends regular time on the manufacturing floor. Key Responsibilities Collect and analyze production data, including cycle time, downtime, scrap, rework, work-in-process, overall equipment effectiveness, and labor utilization, to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities. Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, standard work, visual management, and waste reduction. Assist with facility layout, workstation design, material flow, ergonomics, capacity planning, and staffing recommendations. Partner with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams to conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, reports, dashboards, and project tracking tools; communicate findings and recommendations clearly. Support new equipment, product, and process launches; validate improvements and help sustain results while following all safety and quality requirements. Work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP to support system optimization projects and improve alignment between the system and business processes. Essential Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. Zero to two years of relevant experience; manufacturing internships, co-ops, capstone projects, or equivalent hands-on experience are preferred. Excellent Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills Ability to communicate clearly, solve problems, manage priorities, and work regularly on the production floor. Eagerness to dive into complicated topics with or without a team. Beneficial Skills and Experience Internship, co-op, capstone, or project experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with AutoCAD, Power BI, SQL, or similar analytical tools. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt training, or experience supporting kaizen and 5S activities. Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
