Industrial Safety Engineer

About the Role As a Manufacturing Safety Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority to drive risk reduction and operational excellence across our production facilities. By integrating engineering principles with regulatory compliance, you will champion a culture of safety, ensuring that our processes and equipment protect our workforce while maintaining high-efficiency standards. Responsibilities Design and implement robust engineering controls to mitigate workplace hazards and improve machine safeguarding. Lead comprehensive risk assessments and root-cause investigations to prevent future incidents and enhance operational reliability. Manage the site-wide hazardous energy control (LOTO) program, ensuring all procedures are validated and strictly followed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety requirements into capital projects and equipment modifications from the design phase. Conduct regular floor-level audits and behavioral observations to identify trends and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Provide technical guidance on ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and regulatory compliance to support site leadership and frontline staff. Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Operational Engineering. 5+ years of experience in HSE or safety engineering within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. Deep understanding of OSHA regulations and the hierarchy of controls for hazard mitigation. Proven ability to lead incident investigations and develop sustainable corrective actions. Preferred Skills Experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR). Proficiency in data analysis to track leading and lagging safety indicators. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
