What to Expect Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Industrial Launch Engineer to support the launch and scaling of energy products, including Megapack. This role focuses on bridging the gap between design, manufacturing, and deployment, ensuring seamless product launches and continuous improvement in production designs and processes. What You'll Do
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain) to drive the successful launch of Megapack and other energy storage solutions
Component mechanical design ownership to resolve production issues, improve product field quality, and drive continuous product improvements to enhance performance reduce costs
Develop and optimize industrial processes for high-volume production, focusing on efficiency, quality, and scalability
Identify and resolve production bottlenecks during the launch phase by implementing innovative solutions
Support the transition of products from prototype to mass production, ensuring design for manufacturability (DFM)
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for issues arising during launch and early production stages
Work closely with suppliers to ensure component readiness and alignment with production timelines
Create and maintain documentation, including process workflows, SOPs, and launch checklists
Develop and execute component and subsystem design validation plans and test methods to validate product adherence torequirements, in collaboration with parallel design and cross functional teams
Travel to support production launch and ramp (supplier visits, on-site at Tesla factories, etc.) What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineeringor equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, product launch, or manufacturing engineering, preferably in energy or high-tech industries
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly line setup, and production scaling
Experience with industrial electronics enclosures, energy storage systems, or large-scale battery products is a plus
Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Excel, or similar)
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Willingness to travel as needed to support launch activities at various Tesla facilities (Potentially up to 50% while new production lines are ramping) Compensation and Benefits
