Sr Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support the Midas Rex product line within the powered surgical solutions portfolio. This role is primarily onsite in Fort Worth, Texas, with the possibility of one remote day per week. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will ensure suppliers deliver high-quality parts, materials, and services, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams on new product introduction projects.
Key responsibilities include qualifying suppliers in accordance with company standards, particularly through the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). The role involves managing supplier information on the approved supplier list, including segmentation, selection, agreements, and audit records. You will work directly with suppliers and internal inspection/metrology teams to develop and validate inspection and test methods, establish acceptance sampling plans, and oversee qualification deliverables such as control plans, PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ documentation, process capability studies, and first article inspections.
Additional duties include preparing, reviewing, and approving change orders, investigating and resolving non-conforming material issues, and evaluating supplier performance. The position may require mentoring or guiding junior colleagues and managing projects or processes within the job area.
To be considered, candidates must have a university degree and a minimum of four years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least two years of relevant experience. Advanced knowledge of supplier quality engineering, particularly within medical device quality systems, is required. Experience with PPAP, inspection and metrology methods, and medical device regulatory requirements is essential. Familiarity with the Medtronic quality system is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders are vital. The ideal candidate will demonstrate autonomy, analytical capability, and a track record of process improvement within supplier quality engineering.
