Job Description

MEGlobal Americas Inc. is seeking a Production Engineer to join our team at our Oyster Creek, TX site. MEGlobal's Oyster Creek, TX site is a world-scale ethylene glycol producer and the company's first U.S. manufacturing location. Since start up in 2019, the site has demonstrated exceptional safety, environmental, reliability, and capacity performance. The Production Engineer (Run Plant Engineer/Process Engineer) opening is one of two within the site and will be responsible for the glycol reaction and distillation areas. The successful candidate will join an exceptional team that is highly empowered, highly motivated and has consistently delivered positive results. Job Purpose The Production Engineer acts as a technical resource for Operations personnel, applying technical skills within Manage Production, to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems and enable production of low cost, quality products. Principal Accountabilities Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology. Works with production personnel to optimize operations to meet company and plant goals and objectives (Environmental Health & Safety, asset utilization, cost, quality, etc.). Coordinates activity with Technical Advisor to optimize operation of assigned area of responsibility, while minimizing duplication of effort. Participates in advanced unit operation and technology trouble shooting and mentors others to develop these skills. Coaches and enhances the technical capabilities of the Operations personnel by sharing experiences, technical skills and knowledge. Implements best practices to optimize operations in assigned area of responsibility. Ensures Most Effective Technology (MET), and specific Operating Discipline requirements are in place. Works with Production Data Technician to identify permanent plant process changes and standard update for SAP. Understands and applies skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology, to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality product. As required, communicates technical information and issues to plant personnel, other MEGlobal and

facilities and Technology Expertise Center. Networks with other engineers within MEGlobal and EQUATE to leverage knowledge on plant operations. As required, participates on and leads teams in area of accountability. Reviews asset utilization data on a weekly basis to ensure unplanned events are accurately categorized. Works with other Production Engineers, Technical Advisors and Reliability Engineer to ensure rapid closure of asset utilizations gaps. Identifies and completes small improvement projects to optimize operation of assigned area of responsibility (Environmental, Health & Safety, asset utilization, quality, ease of operation, etc.). Ensures that project work does not take away from core responsibility (daily optimization of assigned area) and typically will not exceed $50,000 in value. Serves as unit landlord when Production Leader is absent, as needed. Supports site Emergency Response Team as required. Acts as Safe Work Permit Approver, as authorized in unit safety standards. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical.
