How will you make an impact? The Industrial Engineer - Inventory Optimization is responsible for driving continuous improvement across inventory management and material control processes. This role focuses on improving inventory accuracy, reducing operational risk, standardizing processes, and implementing sustainable solutions that increase efficiency and support operational excellence. What will you do? Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory control and material management operations. Analyze current processes and develop solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Facilitate Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, and process improvement workshops. Apply Lean methodologies to eliminate waste and improve operational performance. Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and best practices. Evaluate workflows, labor utilization, and process performance using Industrial Engineering principles. Identify opportunities for process simplification, automation, and standardization. Design and implement controls to sustain process improvements. Partner with cross-functional teams to improve inventory accuracy and operational effectiveness. How will you get here?
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related engineering discipline required.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Operational Excellence, Inventory Control, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Operations. Experience leading process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success implementing Lean principles and sustainable process improvements. Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Experience implementing inventory optimization initiatives preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of inventory control, material management, and supply chain processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project. Ability to analyze data and drive fact-based decision making. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
APICS CPIM
certification. Experience within an EMS manufacturing environment (Jabil, Flex, Sanmina, Benchmark, Celestica, Plexus, etc.). Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Experience with Power BI or advanced analytics tools. AutoCAD experience.
