Seattle, WA•Onsite preferred; remote considered for exceptional candidates Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Product Safety & Quality Advisor Senior with a strong background in retail packaging, packaging quality, supplier quality, and material science. This role supports packaging innovation, sustainability initiatives, product safety, quality programs, supplier performance, and packaging specifications. Key Responsibilities Apply technical packaging knowledge across food-contact and non-food-contact packaging materials. Support testing, product assessments, supplier assessments, packaging specifications, and quality programs. Analyze product and supplier quality signals, audit findings, metrics, field feedback, and regulatory information. Identify quality trends and lead investigations and resolution of packaging-related issues. Develop and implement packaging quality programs, product standards, and supplier quality requirements. Partner with suppliers and cross-functional/global teams to support new packaging initiatives and operating practices. Support manufacturing and process capability assessments. Ensure packaging products meet applicable product safety, quality, and compliance requirements. Required Qualifications 3-5+ years of retail packaging, packaging QA, supplier quality, or materials-focused quality experience. Strong packaging/material science knowledge with emphasis on plastics, pulp, and paper. Experience with food-contact packaging, disposable cups, lids, paper, plastics, compostable fiber, and related materials. Experience developing and implementing quality programs and product standards. Experience performing manufacturer, supplier, or product quality audits. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO, GFSI, and/or BRC-compliant quality management systems. Experience reviewing information required for product safety and quality compliance. Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Microsoft Office proficiency. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered. Packaging Materials Experience Preferred experience with: Poly-coated paperboard / hot cups Polypropylene (PP) cups and lids PLA and PHA Molded pulp/fiber Corrugated and containerboard Disposable utensils and related packaging Nice to Have Lean Six Sigma Smartsheet Manufacturing/process capability experience
