Beecher's Handmade Cheese is excited to be opening a new cheesemaking facility in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, and we're looking for a Licensed Cheesemaker to help lead production and uphold the quality standards that define Beecher's. We're hiring now for team members who will begin onboarding and training around November 1 as we prepare to start cheesemaking operations between November 15 and December 15. This is a unique opportunity to join Beecher's from the very beginning, help launch a new facility, and play a key role in shaping the cheesemaking culture, processes, and traditions that will define our newest operation. Starting rate at $28.00/hour, wage based on skills/ work experience Consistent 4-day work week (10-hour shifts) Medical, Dental and Vision coverage Life insurance 401 (k) with company match Paid Time off and Holiday pay What You'll Do Execute cheesemaking processes, including open-vat and cheddar-style production methods Monitor key production variables including pH, temperature, timing, and process performance Maintain accurate production records, including pH readings, yield tracking, batch logs, and process documentation Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ensure all products consistently meet Beecher's standards for quality, flavor, texture, and appearance Support yield optimization and process consistency through data analysis and continuous improvement efforts Participate in product grading and quality assessment activities Champion a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, continuous learning, and pride in product quality What We're Looking For Wisconsin Cheesemaker license required Strong understanding of cheesemaking science, dairy processing, and cheese production operations Experience in artisan, specialty, or handmade cheesemaking environments Deep pride in craftsmanship and producing exceptional products Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor critical process variables and production data Experience maintaining production records, yield reports, and quality documentation Strong communication and training skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence Hands-on approach with a strong presence on the production floor and a passion for cheesemaking Career Opportunity We're looking for people who want more than a paycheck.
