MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN 1 EDUCATION & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS HS
Diploma or equivalent required. Experience may be substituted. Two years journeyman level experiences as an automotive or diesel mechanic or one year in Brevard County School Districts Bus or support vehicle maintenance facility, with favorable evaluation• of skill levels from the Shop Sup. and/or Assistant Director.
PREFERRED/DESIRED
Computer skills, Desired. Valid A.S.E. Certification in Heavy Duty Truck Repair, School Bus Repair, and/or Automobile repair preferred, or Florida Association of Pupil Transportation (FAPT) Master Repair Technician Certification (MRT) If certification is obtained the recipient will receive a five (5) percent supplement as long as the certification is valid.
MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN 2 EDUCATION & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
HS Diploma or equivalent required. Experience may be substituted. Five years journeyman level experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic.

CERT/LICENSES/TRAINING
REQUIRED:
MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN 1 & 2
Valid Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class B or higher with air brakes, passenger endorsement (P), and School Bus (S) (must be obtained within three (3) months of employment) Must have a certified D.O.E. school bus inspector (must be obtained within one (1) year of appointment).
