This is a critical technical role for a true commercial/industrial chiller professional. We are looking for someone with meaningful hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting large-tonnage centrifugal chillers and central plant systems —not simply a general HVAC technician with limited chiller exposure. The technician will become a key technical resource responsible for maintaining and supporting a diverse chiller plant portfolio across two campuses. The central plant environment includes equipment from multiple major manufacturers, including: Trane

• CVHE centrifugal, RTAC/RTWD screw, RTHD helical rotary/screw, and CGAM equipment Daikin Applied / McQuay
• WMC/WME magnetic-bearing centrifugal and AGZ equipment York
• YMC² magnetic-bearing centrifugal, YK centrifugal, YCWL water-cooled scroll, and YVAA air-cooled chillers Carrier air-cooled equipment Large packaged/process chiller equipment Cooling towers from EVAPCO, Marley/SPX, and BAC Responsibilities Lead preventive maintenance activities across complex central plant equipment Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair large commercial and industrial chillers Perform service and maintenance on centrifugal, screw, magnetic-bearing, scroll, and air-cooled chiller systems Troubleshoot cooling towers, pumps, hydronic systems, and associated mechanical equipment Monitor equipment operation and identify developing mechanical or performance issues Take equipment readings and document operating conditions Perform corrective maintenance and repairs as needed Support BAS-integrated central plant systems Maintain accurate service records and equipment documentation Develop strong familiarity with the equipment and operating characteristics of the facilities Work closely with other technicians and provide technical guidance when appropriate Maintain a professional relationship with customers and facility personnel Participate in emergency response when required What We're Looking For Significant commercial/industrial chiller experience Strong hands-on experience with centrifugal chillers Experience working with large-tonnage central plant equipment EPA 608 Universal Certification Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities Experience with pumps, hydronic systems, and cooling towers Ability to work across multiple chiller OEMs Experience with BAS-integrated central plants preferred OEM/factory training or certifications preferred Georgia HVAC license preferred, if applicable Experience in higher education, healthcare, industrial, or other large institutional central plants preferred The normal schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM .

Some after-hours or weekend work may be required around campus events, classes, and facility operations. Emergency response support is also part of the broader operation.
