Mechanical Technician

Job Description

Mechanical Technician (1st shift and Overnight shift 6:00-4:00AM) A Mechanical Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls mechanical equipment and industrial machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires expertise in diagnosing mechanical failures, performing preventive maintenance, interpreting technical drawings, and working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities Install, align, assemble, and commission industrial machinery and mechanical systems. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime. Diagnose mechanical failures and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, motors, bearings, and other rotating equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings. Precision align machinery using laser alignment and dial indicators. Replace and rebuild mechanical components, including seals, bearings, shafts, couplings, and valves. Perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment. Inspect equipment for wear, vibration, and performance issues and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with electrical technicians, engineers, and production personnel to resolve equipment problems. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and company policies. Required Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical power transmission systems. Experience with industrial maintenance practices and precision measurement tools. Ability to read technical drawings and equipment specifications. Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and machine shop equipment is an asset. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team. Typical Qualifications Technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance or industrial mechanics. Experience maintaining industrial or manufacturing equipment. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in industrial environments, including #hc257902
