Job Description:
The Plant Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports manufacturing uptime by performing preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and improving equipment reliability in a fast-paced industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment including motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, and production machinery Perform electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC), including sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, and basic PLC fault diagnostics Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance per PM schedules Diagnose mechanical issues involving bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Support equipment installations, upgrades, and plant shutdowns/turnarounds Use CMMS to document work orders, parts usage, and maintenance history Ensure compliance with safety procedures, LOTO, OSHA standards, and plant policies Collaborate with production, engineering, and reliability teams to improve equipment performance Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor controls Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed PLC experience (Allen-Bradley or Siemens) Welding and fabrication skills (MIG/TIG/Stick) CMMS experience
