Mechanical Engineering Technician Location:
Nashua, NH Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team in Nashua, NH.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mechanical Engineering Technician will assist and perform necessary measurements and testing of connectors and their components and materials for mechanical performance and reliability. Work in the Mechanical Integrity Laboratory testing connectors to ensure mechanical reliability of connectors meet specifications Obtain low level resistance measurements with a 4-Wire Meter Obtain force measurements using a variety of equipment including Instrons Assist with performing repeatable measurements for experiments and characterizations Assist with performing repeatable cycle or stress testing using mechanical fixtures and equipment Accurately record, store, and process data in Excel to create graphs and reports with PowerPoint Keep track of all work and experiments performed Interact as needed with Manufacturing and Engineering Display caution around highly sensitive equipment and performs work with consistency and precision
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum postsecondary education requirement of 1 to 2 years in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics. Strong mechanical, geometric, numerical, and statistical aptitude Ability to read and interpret geometric drawings, schematics, and block diagrams Proficient in- Microsoft Products- Excel, Word, PowerPoint Strong accuracy and organizational skills Must be self-motivated Experience with Instron equipment and Bluehill Universal software is a plus Experience with MeasureMind OGP equipment (or other measurement equipment) is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Repeatable Process:
Fixturing of test samples which require the use of hand tools and lifting up to 30 lbs.
