Mechanical Engineering Technician Position Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our equipment engineering team with day-to-day plant operations, equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and improvement projects. This is a hands-on, plant-based role for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and several years of experience working with industrial equipment. You will work closely with engineers, maintenance trades, operators, vendors, and plant personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement practical repairs and improvements. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically minded, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and able to take ownership of straightforward projects while working under the guidance of engineering staff. Key Responsibilities Partner with engineering team members, union trades, and equipment operators to troubleshoot and address equipment breakdowns. Support equipment repair, modification, and improvement projects across a variety of plant and facility equipment. Independently execute straightforward mechanical projects from identification of the need through completion. Work with vendors and plant personnel to identify, source, and purchase equipment and repair-related components. Interpret technical documentation including equipment layouts, SOPs, mechanical drawings, and schematics. Troubleshoot and support repairs involving equipment such as pumps, grinders, CNC machines, forming equipment, furnaces, and other industrial machinery . Assist engineering staff with equipment-related projects and day-to-day operational needs. Communicate effectively with engineering, maintenance, operations, vendors, and other plant personnel. Maintain a high level of organization while managing multiple equipment-related needs and projects. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field ; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of education. 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience , preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and apply mechanical principles across a variety of equipment and applications. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, schematics, and technical documentation. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with engineering, maintenance trades, operators, and vendors. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software . Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint . Experience supporting equipment improvement, modification, or reliability projects. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.

Pay:

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
