Job Summary Responsible for the overall operations to include operating, monitoring, and controlling the status of all power plant systems from the Control Room. Executes plant shut-down and start ups, responds to alarms and equipment issues, coordinates maintenance and work with current plant conditions and commercial commitments.
Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.
Job Description Key Accountabilities:
- Inspects, repairs, and maintains various types of plant equipment
- Understands and is able to ensure proper operation of the plant. May be responsible for plant oversight in the absence of management
- Repairs and calibrates equipment
- Troubleshoots equipment and systems
- Develops and implements plant operating procedures
- Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE
- Actively trains others in area of expertise
- Performs technical work or analysis of processes in areas of expertise
- Gains knowledge of the entire plant cycle and how it functions
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
- 2 -4 years of related experience
- Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic: Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
- Demonstrate standard computer based skills
- Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
- If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-E All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways at elevations of 75 feet and more; crawl to and through confined space areas, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- This job requires the ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and use other safety equipment as required

- Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 job performance measures predominately composed of Sign-offs of demonstrating different primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance relevant to primary skill.
- Demonstrate continual self improvement in job skills and knowledge.

- Satisfactory completion of Tier 4 Job Performance Measures in primary job and satisfactory completion of Tier 2 Job Performance Measures in another skill.
