GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs engineering, technical, repair and logistic support to forces afloat in identification and correction of material condition discrepancies in Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E), Aviation systems, and C4I/ combat support systems and other support equipment; to identify and correct systems material discrepancies; update and maintain configuration and availability report database systems; develop or update on board training and curriculum and conduct instruction in U.S. Naval Air Force Carriers or U.S. Naval Surface Force.LOCATION

Min education: High Scholl Diploma/GED An Associate Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two (2) years of technician experience.REQUIREMENTS
Twelve (12) years of experience in the operations, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems of U.S. Naval ships is required, including: Four (4) years of experience directing or supervising a work force of skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions. Five (5) years of experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system. Five (5) years of experience with shipboard propulsion plants or auxiliary machinery equipment and/or nuclear-powered propulsion plants maintenance and repair. Shipboard experience required. US Citizenship required for this position No relocation assistance available for this position Security clearance (Secret preferred) required Travel (within and outside of the continental United States) will be required for 10% of the time Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
