Position Overview Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Our Huntsville Powertrain Plant is currently seeking 3 Manufacturing Engineering Interns to join us this summer! Join Us as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern ! We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Engineering Manufacturing Interns to join our dynamic team. As an Engineering Manufacturing Intern, you will play a key role in enhancing our fabrication and assembly processes. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects related to process optimization, tooling implementation, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies in manufacturing. Responsibilities As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will be involved in transformative projects aimed at optimizing assembly processes. You will work alongside our assembly engineering teams. Projects have the possibility of focusing on the following key areas: Error proofing
  • designing, producing, and implementing error proofing devices to for validating assembly processes MES
  • Setting up processes in our manufacturing execution system. This includes the creation of digital work instructions Line balancing
  • Identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements or moving work content to create a balanced flow Plant Layout
  • Update station and plant layouts as process changes occur Prototyping
  • Projects can include prototyping through 3D modeling and 3D printing By participating in these projects, you will gain hands-on experience in the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and process optimization within powertrain assembly.
Minimum Requirements Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree

Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status) Desired Skills At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting the end of May or early June through August) Previous applicable internships Self-starter High level of computer skills (Microsoft Applications and Internet) Benefits and Compensation This position offers competitive pay to support employees as they gain real‑world experience and grow professionally. The hourly pay range is $27
  • 32 per hour.
In addition, interns and co‑ops are eligible for paid time off (PTO) and paid company holidays during their assignment.
