Drill Tech's 10 subsidiary companies possess a wide range of expertise including marine construction, rockfall mitigation, microtunneling, and other specialty services. Job Description Drill Tech is looking for a Design Engineer to work from our office in Corona, CA. A successful candidate is willing to learn the fundamentals of our business and apply them to design engineering as it relates to the various scopes of work performed at Drill Tech, such as earth retention systems, foundation piling systems, and ground improvements. Successful candidates may also participate in estimating and construction management. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to organize multiple concurrent tasks. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Primary Duties:
Analyzing geotechnical reports, contract documents, and construction drawings. Develop geotechnical design solutions. Perform calculations to support the design solutions. Provide drafting of construction drawings, exhibits, and other illustrations that represent Drill Tech-proposed solutions. Participate in interfacing with clients and design teams.
Secondary Duties:
These duties relate to Estimating and Construction Management. Ensure work is completed in a safe and efficient manner. Develop construction project work plans with superintendent. Compile and plan budgets, cost estimates, and other financial estimates. Coordinate, plan, and manage job schedules. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget through job-cost tracking.
Material procurement:
order and manage materials and equipment. Provide internal reporting and projections for project. Oversee and supervise construction project progress and provide reports on timeline, progress, and adjustments. Perform submittal preparation and estimate potential future work with bid proposals. Oversee and implement all aspects of contract management and construction management over the full lifespan of a project.
Qualifications :
B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. While not required for this position, Professional Engineer registration is a plus. 5-10 years of similar work experience. Working knowledge of AutoCad, SNAILZ, L-pile, CT Shoring, Revit (or similar), and Deep Ex is highly desirable. Experience with estimating software such as HCSS is desired, but not necessary.
Compensation:
Negotiable depending on relevant experience. Health benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage. 401k Plan, 4% company match. Relocation assistance available on case-by-case basis.
