APPLE INC
has the following available in Cupertino , California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop ongoing reliability test, perform failure analysis and monitor field failure rate to ensure customer satisfaction. Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacture methods that achieve ambitious specifications at massive production scale. Compile and evaluate data to figure out appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications. Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure alignment to Apple quality standards. Manage supplier strategies, monitor supply chain and improve supplier's capability through training and technology development. Partner with multi‐functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase. Responsible for quality control for battery NPI phase including incoming and outgoing cell and pack material. Responsible for metrology equipment development including algorithms, hardware design, and measurement system qualification. Develop cosmetic and dimensional specifications, drive quality failure analysis and dimensional specifications (FACA) for battery manufacturing yield loss, functional and performance failures, improve process, and standardized reliability tests. Collaborate with external Asian vendor internal engineering, design, operations, and manufacturing team. Travel required 30% international and domestic. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $133,500 - $201,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Experience and/or education must include:
Planning Design of Experiments (DOEs) to resolve impacts on process capability and cell performance, summarizing data findings, and implementing changes to meet specification standards Driving qualification efforts in a wide variety of areas such as metrology, electrode fabrication, and cell and pack assembly Performing cell failure analysis to evaluate battery failure modes and implementing preventive measures Writing, assessing, and auditing validation tests both internally and at the vendors Driving vendor process performance improvements through objective measurements using yield gap analysis Using statistical tools such as jmp tool for extensive data analysis Utilizing manufacturing equipment such as strength testers or charge-coupled device sensors and electrode fabrication equipment such as mixers, coaters, various assembly stations Preferred Qualifications N/A This position is not subject to the application limits.
