Job Description
About the Position APL Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Manufacturing Engineer to support our manufacturing operations through cost analysis, process improvement, production planning, and engineering support activities. This position is ideal for a recent engineering graduate or an early-career professional looking to develop hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Sales to help improve manufacturing efficiency and support customer quotation activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and manufacturing quotations. Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs). Create and update manufacturing routings and process documentation. Analyze labor, material, machine, and outside processing costs. Support production planning and manufacturing process improvements. Conduct time studies and assist in establishing labor standards. Review production data to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost reduction. Collaborate with Purchasing to obtain material and vendor pricing. Support the Sales team with customer RFQs and quote preparation. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. Generate reports and analysis for management review. Ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. AutoCad knowledge and experience. Preferred Internship or previous manufacturing experience. Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as JobBOSS, Epicor, SAP, or similar platforms. Understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, and production operations. Basic knowledge of manufacturing costing and process analysis.
