  • responsible for the automation scope across HPS's expanding US project portfolio. The role You will be responsible for the automation and control systems scope across HPS projects in the US
  • from design and PLC programming through to site commissioning and customer handover. You will work directly alongside our process engineers and project teams, translating process requirements into reliable, hygienic automation solutions. You will work within a collaborative structure
  • reporting into the US leadership team for project outcomes and connecting closely with HPS's Lead Automation Engineer in Australia for technical direction and standards.
This is a hands-on delivery role with real accountability for the systems you commission. What you will do Design and develop control system architectures for hygienic process engineering projects Write, test and commission PLC programs and configure HMI and SCADA solutions to customer and regulatory requirements Collaborate with process engineers to translate process design into automation specifications Manage the automation scope across the full project lifecycle
  • from design review through FAT, site installation and commissioning Support customer training and handover Contribute to the development of HPS automation standards and repeatable delivery frameworks The experience you will bring 5+ years of hands-on automation delivery experience in an industrial or process environment Practical PLC programming experience is essential
  • Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000) and/or Siemens (TIA Portal) are the most relevant platforms for HPS projects SCADA and HMI development experience (Ignition, FactoryTalk, or equivalent) Working knowledge of process instrumentation and control system design Degree in electrical, controls, automation, or a related engineering discipline Comfortable on site
  • commissioning work is part of the role across California and the broader region Experience in food, dairy, or hygienic manufacturing environments is preferred but not essential
