The Boeing Global Services' team is searching for a Lighting Design and Analysis Engineer (Associate & Mid-Level) located in Long Beach, California . This position is to support the C-17 military cargo aircraft operated around the world. The successful candidate has an ability to perform systems integration; learn the lighting system and take on cognizant engineer responsibilities; read wiring diagrams, system schematics, block diagrams; read electrical drawings such as wire harness, equipment installation; and resolve technical problems. The successful candidate will work with senior engineer to further develop skills. This position requires someone that is self-motivated and has leadership skills/lead potential. C-17 engineering is a customer focused organization and the ability to build strong customer relationships is a plus. Looking for a dynamic person that is ready to develop and take skills to the next level.Position Responsibilities:
Develops understanding/knowledge of Electrical Lighting Syste m Assumes cognizant engineering responsibilities for some Electrical Lighting System subsystem s Reads wiring diagrams, system schematics, and block diagram s Supports analysis and design review s Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commoditie s Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selectio n Supports the sustainment, development, and documentation of aircraft systems, primarily electrical and electro-mechanical system design (will include interacting directly with USAF customer, Field Engineers, and C-17 aircraft ) Performs root cause analysis for field issues, provides corrective actions, and communicates with USAF customer (including presentations ) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statemen t 1+ years of experience in Electrical design; including but not limited to Electrical Systems design, Wire Design, Electrical Equipment Installation and Wire Installation Design, Electrical Lighting System s Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3 or more years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Level 3 ) Experience with aircraft wiring diagrams and system schematic s 1+ years of Electrical Lighting Systems experienc e 1+ years of leadership or project management experienc e 1+ years of experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD), utilizing model-based definition, preferably on Unigraphics N xConflict of Interest:
