Job Title:

Manufacturing Engineer Job Description The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for both new and existing products. The role ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel to produce quality products at minimum costs. The position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture and fabrication of parts, including estimating manufacturing costs and time standards. The engineer will recommend tooling and process requirements for new and existing products and act as a liaison with internal and external customers for product releases. Additionally, the role provides high-level technical expertise for project or program planning, task layouts, technical calculations, design, and analysis functions, as well as technical report writing and presentations. Responsibilities Provide significant expertise in developing engineering solutions to improve the manufacture of Axillon products. Improve current production processes using applicable methods and procedures. Transfer new products into production with a focus on 'design for manufacturability'. Participate in developing and maintaining documentation for processes and designs. Understand key business drivers to accomplish tasks effectively. Solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience and judgment. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, with a willingness to work variable schedules and additional hours as needed. Essential Skills B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering. 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with AS9100 quality management system. Excellent working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Self-starter with excellent time management skills. Ability to establish objectives and specify strategies to achieve them. Experience with marketing support, including meetings, presentations, and customer interface. Excellent technical writing skills and cost estimating experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of experience with composite materials and processing techniques such as autoclave, RTM, and compression molding preferred. Experience in the aerospace and defense sector. Comfortable working in teams and independently. Ability to make technical, data-driven decisions and execute with limited management support. Work Environment This role is situated within a leading provider of complex, highly engineered composite and polymer solutions for demanding commercial and defense applications. The organization comprises six purpose-built centers of excellence located throughout the USA and Mexico, each strategically focused on serving specific markets across aerospace engines, airframes, munitions, radomes, antennas, and fuel containment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
