Senior Engineering Technician

Job Title:

Senior Engineering TechnicianJob Description Design and build advanced systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. This role supports the assembly, alignment, testing, and calibration of high-precision subsystems that enable next-generation electronics. Responsibilities + Perform sub-system assembly, optical alignment, and functional testing. + Support calibration, station setup, and process development activities. + Use tools such as torque wrenches, electric/pneumatic drivers, and test equipment. + Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems (gas/water). + Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and BOMs. + Support engineering teams with testing and experimental builds. + Conduct in-process inspections to ensure quality standards. + Maintain clean work environment and calibrated tools. + Assist with labeling, cleaning, and final prep for shipment. Essential Skills + Troubleshooting machines. + Drawing & BOM interpretation. + Experience with pneumatics. + Hands-on experience with precision assembly and alignment of complex components. + Strong ability to follow detailed work instructions, schematics, and BOMs. + Experience using test equipment and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems. + Comfortable working in a clean, process-driven manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with optical engineering, hi pot, LabVIEW, avionics. + High school diploma required; associate's degree preferred. + 6+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience. + Experience with precision optics or cleanroom environments is a big plus. + Strong communication and ability to work within structured processes. + Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced production setting. Work Environment On-site manufacturing environment in San Diego. The setting may vary between cleanroom and precision assembly depending on the project. This is a team-based, process-driven environment with strong engineering support and the use of specialized tools and testing equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
