Duties Develop and implement automation scripts for Cadence OrCAD and Allegro PCB design tools to improve layout efficiency and accuracy. Create custom automation workflows to facilitate repetitive tasks such as schematic generation, component placement, and routing. Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate design requirements into automated processes that support rapid prototyping and production. Integrate automation solutions with manufacturing systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems, to ensure seamless data flow. Perform root cause analysis on PCB layout issues, troubleshooting automation failures and optimizing scripts for better performance. Maintain detailed documentation of automation procedures, scripts, schematics, and workflows for team reference and continuous improvement. Support the integration of vision inspection systems and other quality assurance tools into the PCB design process to ensure compliance with industry standards such as CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice). Qualifications Proven experience with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro PCB design tools, including scripting and automation capabilities. Strong mechanical knowledge related to tooling, machining, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with schematic capture, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings. Hands-on experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks for mechanical design integration is highly desirable. Knowledge of robotics systems such as Fanuc or similar industrial robots used in manufacturing environments. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and their application in electronics production. Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex issues involving schematics, tooling, or automated processes. Experience working with vision inspection systems and integrating them into manufacturing workflows. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and their programming environments.
